1880s Photograph of travellers with stagecoach, pausing to enjoy the view in the Furka pass in the Swiss Alps. The road over the 2431m pass was constructed between 1864 and 1867, after which the stagecoach line was introduced.

1890s Photograph of a group posing in front of the Sphinx and the Pyramids. A classic snapshot for tourists visiting Egypt.

1903 Postcard showing a Zürich teacher posing in travel attire on deck of the steamer on his way to the Orient. The postcard was sent as a greeting to friends back home.

1908 Photographs of a group on tour to the Orient with the Martin Roy Murray tourist company. According to the program booklet, the price of the arrangement was "Inclusive costs $550 and upwards". Pictures of the conducted party in Jerusalem.
